Great news for you who reside or mostly have
activities around Plaza Semanggi. Why? Because now the who-doesn’t-know-and-love
Carl’s Junior is available at Plaza Semanggi! Okay, take your time to express
your excitement LOL. Located at the space used to be B*rg*r K*ng, which is
located right at the main entrance of the mall, Carl’s Jr outlet is highly
visible and I believe you’ll recognize it even if you just pass by Plaza
Semanggi. In line with the concept of all existing Carl’s Jr outlets, the venue
is highly spacious and designed to be a cozy place for spending long time. It
even consists of both indoor and outdoor area.

Another heart-warming news, you can dine in this newly
opened outlet not just in the afternoon or in the evening, but also in the
morning starting from 7am. And yes, they do serve breakfast menu and coffee! So
for you who often pass this area in the morning, you can just park your car
right in front of the venue, and then grab your delicious breakfast, which I
can doubtlessly say will boost up your mood all day long.
Though I believe most of you must have known or even
have been a long-time addict of Carl’s Jr, maybe some of you are still unaware
of it. So, let me introduce you to this US premium burger restaurant. Bringing
the signature concept of Charbroiled grill method, each patty served here is
grilled at its top and bottom parts simultaneously. Moreover, all Carl’s
burgers are made-to-order so they are guaranteed to be served hot and fresh. And
for you who don’t eat pork, you needn’t worry since all dishes served in Carl’s
Jr Indonesia are halal.

Another distinctive point of Carl’s Jr is definitely
its service, which is called as “Super Star Service”. This is defined as
friendly and helpful service, which must be delivered by all the waiters or
waitresses. The restaurant even dares to mention that they will help the
customer with everything he needs so he doesn’t need to leave his chair until
he finishes his dining session.

As a kick-start for today’s giant feast, my friends
and I had Criss Cut Fries and Onion Rings as our appetizers. For the first one,
you might be more familiar with the name of Net Fries. I guessed the appearance
of both have already been able to tell you almost everything. Yes! The perfectly
golden brown color, which I believe definitely made you drool indeed showed the
crispiness and tastiness of both these appetizers. They were both well-seasoned
and addicting. If only we didn’t think that we still had to leave spaces in our
tummy for burgers, we might have been full of appetizers as we just couldn’t
stop munching them.
Charbroiled
Chicken Salad (IDR 28k)
Actually, I also wanted to call this salad as
appetizer, but looking at the quite huge portion, I guessed the name might be
not really suitable. Topped with tender and yummy charbroiled chicken, this
salad was not only refreshing, but surprisingly was also able to pamper your
taste bud. If all healthy foods did taste like this, I guessed being healthy
would never be hard.
Western
Beef Bacon Cheeseburger – Double (Ala Carte IDR 63k / Combo IDR 80k)
Now we start moving on to the part you’ve been waiting
the most, CARL’S JR BURGERS! The first on the table was one of the signature
dishes of Carl’s Jr, which’s also one of the best-sellers. To get the ultimate
satisfaction from this dish, my friends and I decided to have the double
version of it! So here was our burger served with double charbroiled beef
patty, double cheese, beef bacon, breaded onion rings, and barbeque sauce.
Great news for any veggie haters, yes this was served without any veggie! So
how’s the taste? I thought that question could be automatically answered by the
appearance of the dish. You definitely could make your own guess. Of course, it’s
SO SO SO GOOD! The patty was so tender and juicy and the bacon was perfectly
crispy and scrumptious! Combining it with double cheese, tasty onion rings, and
special barbeque sauce; this burger was indeed succulent in each bite! If you
want extra happiness with more pocket-friendly price, you could go for the
combo, in which your burger would come with fries and free-flow drink.
Portobello
Mushroom Burger (Ala Carte IDR 55k / Combo IDR 72k)
Another most favorite burger here was this Portobello
Mushroom Burger. Any mushroom lover should opt for this one! Using exceptional
Portobello mushroom and combining it with black pepper sauce, this dish would
deliver you the perfect complement to your perfectly delightful beef patty. Basically,
I could say that this one was just another way to enjoy the heavenly beef patty
of Carl’s Jr. Besides, it’s also a healthier one since this burger was
completed with several veggies toppings, including lettuce, onions and tomato;
and the bun used was mainly made of wheat. If the previous burger’s taste was
more dominant to sweet direction, then this was more to savory side.
Barbeque
Chicken Sandwich (Ala Carte IDR 38k / Combo IDR 55k)
Is there any of you who don’t fancy beef patty? Then
here’s the answer for you, the burger served with chicken patty. Same with the
beef one, it was also grilled using Charbroiled method. I was really in love
with the patty’s texture as it was crispy outside yet so tender inside. Quite
similar to the Portobello Mushroom, this burger was also served in ‘healthy’
version with those veggies and wheat bread. Not to forget, you would also have
that heart-stealing beef bacon here. Isn’t
it a perfect combination of chicken and beef?
Mile
High
Yeay! We just arrived at the newly introduced menu at
any Carl’s Jr outlet, Mile High! Still served with charbroiled beef patty,
cheese, and lettuce; so what’s special in this one? Oh yes, there’s one more
ingredient I haven’t mentioned, which I believe you could see clearly in the
picture as it somehow dominated the whole burger’s presentation. Could you
guess? Exactly, the special fried onion rings! Why did I call it special?
Because it’s not similar to common onion rings you usually had in Carl’s Jr as
this one was covered with different batter. Moreover, if the common onion rings,
which were the breaded one, had thicker coating; this special onion rings’ one
came in much thinner version. It was indeed so crispy and the taste was divine!
Whoever inventing this new menu, it would be an honor for me to award you as
the master of onion ring!
Western
Beef Bacon in LOW-FAT VERSION
Okay, having talked quite much about various burgers
served in Carl’s Jr, now I could see those sinful faces starring at the screen,
wondering how much calories would be consumed eating those super rich burgers. If
you just said “yes it’s me”, then
here’s another surprise Carl’s Jr provided for you, the LOW-FAT version of all
those burgers! So the only difference of this version compared to the previous
ones was the bun. Instead of using bread, which contained quite-high carbo
level, this one came up with lettuce which was surely much healthier. Having a
try on it, the taste was unexpectedly superb and even refreshing!
Free-Refill
Drink (Small IDR 13k / Medium IDR 15k)
Having talked so much about those abundant foods, then
you might wonder what types of beverages were served. Okay, let me begin with
the ‘light’ one. I intentionally put that quotation sign since I did go for the
medium-sized glass and FYI, the drink was free-flow. However, you would know
about this why I called this giant-sized beverage as light. Anyway for this
one, you would be given several choices; starting from green tea, lemon tea,
iced tea, and even various soft drinks.
Hand-Scooped
Cookies & Cream Ice Cream Shake (IDR 25k)
If I called the free-refill drink as the light one,
then there should be the heavier one. So hereby I presented you the sinful
pleasure of the day, COOKIES & CREAM ICE CREAM SHAKE (also available in vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, and the newest flavor–
espresso)! Throughout my whole life, ice cream shake has never failed to
amuse me, including this one. Blending cookies & cream ice cream with more
Oreo cookies and topped it with whipped cream, this super fulfilling beverage
was DIVINE! Though my friends thought that this drink was slightly too sweet,
for me who’s a sweet addict, this one successfully created an unforgettable
ending for my dining session at Carl’s Jr on that day.
Finally, all I can say is just you have to believe me
that your tummy prosperity moment will doubtlessly happen here. If you dine in
here and after that you say that you’re not full, then you’d better check if
your tummy has any leakage LOL.
