Tummy Prosperity: Terrific Brunch at St. Germain

St. Germain is the new restaurant brought out by Cacaote. The concept is pretty similar with the main theme of classic French restaurant. The design is chic and elegant, both for the inner and outer side. The service is very pleasant as well as the waitresses are very friendly in explaining and recommending the dishes.

Still bringing the French theme, you can expect how the menu looks like. Yes, most of the dishes are Western ones. However, if I may say, the main difference is St. Germain focuses more on serving all-day brunch menu. The choices provided are quite various, ranging from the classic Poached Eggs and Big Breakfast, until the unique ones like Bacon Pancake and Charcuterie. Besides, they do serve selections of beverages, which can be perfect match for any brunch menu, such as cold-pressed juices and coffee.

Poached Eggs (IDR 78k)

At first, I expected these Poached Eggs would taste like common Eggs Benedict and it’s just the presentation which was wonderful. However, I was totally wrong. This dish tasted so exceptional that I immediately included St. Germain in my list of most favorite places for Brunch! Instead of using bread as the base, the dish used richly seasoned potato rosti. The eggs were cooked perfectly and you could see the egg yolk burst out when you sliced the poached egg. It was so moist, blowing your heart away once it melted in your mouth. As the topping, I picked pork ham (other choices were cured salmon and beef pastrami), whose savory taste perfectly complemented the delightful eggs. Another unique thing about the presentation was the way they served the Hollandaise sauce. If you realized, it was put at the bottom part, serving you different yet beautiful appearance of Poached Eggs.

Iced Chef Blend (IDR 45k)

My sister was immediately interested to this beverage once she found it in the menu. We then asked the waitress what differentiate this variant of chocolate drink from the rest. Actually, it was the mixture of pure cocoa blended with various spices. The taste was so rich and you could strongly feel the chocolate flavor in it. This was surely an addiction for any chocolate lover.

Life is Berry Complex (IDR 45k)

When life gets very complex to you, have this smoothies :p. Ok, it might sound cheesy, but trust me, this refreshing drink could certainly be an impeccable mood booster for your day. Blending strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, vanilla ice cream, and milk; it was not only revitalizing but also able to pamper your taste bud. This beverage delivered you a perfect balance of sour taste from the berries and sweet milky taste from the ice cream and milk. Two thumbs up!

Today I was indeed a highly satisfied customer as all things offered by St. Germain - the taste, the place, and the service - were far beyond my expectation. Both the foods and beverages I tried were flawless and I was impressed with the taste. I would definitely come back to try their other appealing dishes and beverages.
